Gawn Associates have been involved with this hotel development for many years, providing Structural Engineering design services for various alterations and extension to the original hotel, including the orangery, and conversion of existing barns into new bedroom accommodation.
In 2002 a new fitness centre was created at the development. This involved extensive refurbishment of a listed barn and installation of a mezzanine floor to provide space for a new gymnasium and changing rooms. These served the new pool facility which was enclosed by a new barn style structure to match the adjoining structures. The large span roof was formed using a combination of oak trusses together with a main steel frame supporting the whole roof, clad in timber to maintain the barn style effect. Gawn Associates have more recently been involved with the development a new two storey structure housing a new spa facility, adjoining the original fitness centre.
