Grain Store, Dry Drayton

This project consisted of a 90m long barn for the storage of 21000 tonnes of grain, and was constructed from over 200 tonnes of structural steelwork.  The building is divided into three compartments, capable of storing different crops, and includes advanced grain handling equipment to enable a rapid turnaround of delivery lorries during the busy harvest period.  The grain is stored to a height of 6.9m against the side walls, rising to over 14m in the centre.  Gawn Associates acted as lead consultant, and project manager for the construction, which was completed in time for the 2012 harvest.
