This 19th century building had previously been in use as lodgings for post-graduate members of the college. The purpose of the £1.25m project was to convert it to boarding accommodation for pupils of St John’s College School. Much internal remodelling of the building was required, modernisation of mechanical and electrical services, and construction of a side extension at each end, including formation of a basement on a very constricted site.

Gawn Associates provided overall project management of the design and construction, with detailed civil and structural engineering design.
